The good stuff first. Rosalind Eleazar is great in every way. But are we supposed to believe that Steve Pemberton is really a horrible criminal mastermind? I love him, but he's not. The character Aqua looks to be about 24 years old, but was roommates with Cat's fiancé for 4 years ~11 years ago? When she was 9? And Brendan was 19? This is all so silly. I know it shouldn't all be dark and surreal, but could we just get over our skepticism a little easier? That would make some of their regrettable decisions easier to bear. You see, about 8 or 10 years ago, a certain color palette was great when it was first used in a series or a movie. For example, "The Cure for Health." As a marketing professional, I wholeheartedly supported this. But is it time to go beyond that? It's almost weirdly distracting. Regardless of what part of the UK this series is set in, I want to move there. With a normal salary, I can afford a decent detached house. And land! I know it's better to see beautiful places than to see crushed new build townhouses, but please consider my previous request. Make it easier for us to overcome our skepticism, not harder. Honestly, if you can ignore all that, this is a pretty entertaining and exciting series. If you've seen Harlan Coben's other Netflix series, it's exactly what you'd expect. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, unless you're a grumpy old lady like me.
Detective Inspector Kat Donovan, portrayed by Rosalind Eleazar, is haunted by her father's unresolved murder and the unexplained disappearance of her fiancé, Josh Buchanan, over a decade ago. Her world is upended when she discovers Josh's profile on a dating app, propelling her into a labyrinth of secrets and deceptions. As Kat delves deeper, she uncovers startling truths about her father's past and confronts a web of criminal activity that intertwines with her personal life.

The series employs a distinctive color palette, enhancing its atmospheric tension. Set in picturesque English locales, the cinematography juxtaposes serene landscapes with the dark themes of the narrative. However, some viewers may find the portrayal of characters' living situations, such as Kat's spacious residence, to stretch plausibility. "Missing You" explores themes of loss, betrayal, and the quest for truth. Kat's journey reflects the complexities of confronting past traumas while seeking justice. The series delves into moral ambiguities, challenging characters to navigate ethical dilemmas in their pursuit of resolution. The series has garnered mixed reviews. Rosalind Eleazar's performance is widely praised for its depth and authenticity. However, certain casting choices and plot elements have faced scrutiny for lacking believability. The adherence to a specific color palette, while artistically notable, has been critiqued for being overly stylized. It offers a suspenseful narrative that will engage fans of mystery thrillers. While it presents some elements that may challenge viewers' suspension of disbelief, the series provides a compelling exploration of personal and moral complexities.
